Tuesday Open Thread
The Thread
Something is very gently,
invisibly, silently,
pulling at me-a thread
or net of threads
finer than cobweb and as
elastic. I haven’t tried
the strength of it. No barbed hook
pierced and tore me. Was it
not long ago this thread
began to draw me? Or
way back? Was I
born with its knot about my
neck, a bridle? Not fear
but a stirring
of wonder makes me
catch my breath when I feel
the tug of it when I thought
it had loosened itself and gone.
-Denise Levertov
“a net of threads”, indeed.
Has anyone heard anything about Dena lately?

Lovely, thanks! I’ve always enjoyed her work - & clean line. Regretably only ever heard her read once.
One of my teachers, Mary Laird, printer & amazing book artist, was working on Levertov book at the time. Which turned out simply gorgeous. There’s an image here & if you click on the image, a reproduction of one of the pages.

Afternoon, I’m not sure how my “style” of diaries would go here due to the photography… so here’s a link to the photos.

Thanks. The town hall meeting did at one time during a members question about WHEN they would stop the talk/debate and actually do something to stop the war because each day, each minute kids were dying. That there are protestors outside the station saying to DEFUND THE WAR.

My head hurts too much to understand the italicized passage. I’ll have to take a look at it later on.
