A Little Music with that Rant???
The music for tonight was inspired by Shirlstar’s most excellent rant in the Friday Open Thread today. So if you haven’t seen it yet - go take a look then come back and listen.
I also thought it was time we invited Stevie Wonder for a little visit to the neighborhood. So for those of you on dial-up - tonight we’re listening to “Higher Ground.”
People keep on learnin
Soldiers keep on warrin
World keep on turnin
Cause it wont be too long
Powers keep on lyin
While your people keep on dyin
World keep on turnin
Cause it wont be too long
Im so darn glad he let me try it again
Cause my last time on earth I lived a whole world of sin
Im so glad that I know more than I knew then
Gonna keep on tryin
Till I reach the highest ground
Great choice, Nancy! And thanks. What a heaping helping of love from you all today (and everyday), thanks so much. And what a blessing to be considered an “inspiration” to you visa vi my rant. That’s my job here, you know. . .to encourage, to empower, to support, to inspire, to love outrageously. . .that’s really all I am here to do. It is fabulous when purpose meets an open receptor!
Lovin’ the Stevie Wonder Higher Ground. . .ain’t it the truth!!
Big hugs,
Shirl

Well chosen but I’ll have to just hum it in my head. (dial up blues)

You mean there is something besides humming in your head? LOL
Count me dial up blue also. I do have videos that go with that humming, though. . .gosh it’s great to be a seerer of images all the time. . .got more than my share of the visual genes I think. But them’s some good little movies, yessir!

Sometimes I’m amazed when I think about how long Stevie Wonder has been an inspiration to me - he just keeps on giving.
His latest cd titled “A Time to Love” is packed with great stuff. Two songs that have become particular inspirations to me are “Shelter in the Rain” (which is a benefit song for the people of New Orleans) and “Positivity.”
What a blessing to the world that man is!!
